FLORIDA IS HOME TO 1.3 MILLION VETERANS - WE CANNOT LET THEM DOWN.

As the state with the second-largest veteran population, Florida is on the front lines of the suicide crisis. The Mac Parkman Foundation is committed to making our state a national leader in brain health innovation and implementation.

Proof in Action: The Florida Pilot Program

We aren’t just advocating for change; we are delivering it. In a historic partnership with the Florida Department of Veterans’ Affairs (FDVA), The Mac Parkman Foundation has launched the Florida Veterans Brain Health & Suicide Prevention Program.

This active clinical pilot program removes barriers that keep veterans from obtaining evidence-informed care for their invisible wounds.

No VA enrollment is required. No formal diagnosis is needed. No red tape.

This is a “Proof of Concept” for the nation. By demonstrating the efficacy of these treatments right here in Florida, we are building the clinical data needed to scale this model across the country.

Empowering Florida's Heroes: The Brain Health Readiness Toolkit

Awareness is the first step. The Mac Parkman Foundation is developing the Brain Health Readiness Toolkit, a set of practical resources designed for service members, veterans, and their families right here in Florida.

With simple tools like pocket cards to identify symptoms and discussion guides for families, we are empowering our community to understand that brain trauma is an injury, not a weakness.

Core Message: “You maintain your weapon. Maintain your brain.”

This toolkit provides actionable steps for individuals to Rest, Record, Report, and Recover, bridging the gap between awareness and life-saving action.
